Due to a terrible mix-up, the Olympic Cafe in Catford Sidings has been slated to host the beach luge competition as part of the London 2012 Olympics.
We don't really have the facilities for beach luge, said Cafe owner Troy Janhorse, but obviously we'll do our best. It may be possible to host a small competition if we move some of the tables out on to the street.
The problem is believed to have arisen when the 2012 Olympic Committee used a Danish-English auto-translation system that substituted the word cafe with the word venue. It is not known how many other Olympic Cafes are scheduled to host major sporting events.
